Question: How do I know if we are a good match?
Answer: I would be happy to answer any questions over the phone or through email. You would get a sense of whether we would be a good fit during the Free 20-minute Phone Consultation. My primary responsibility is to ensure that you feel safe and comfortable in the therapeutic process. I will be happy to help you find a more suitable counsellor before or during the therapeutic process if it becomes evident that your issue is outside of my expertise or experience.
Question: What is the length of counselling session?
Answer: The length of the session depends on your needs and schedule. Typically individual (one on one) session is 50 minutes. Couples or families can work within a 50 minute session but often they find it more productive to have 80 minute session because of the complexity of the issues.
Question: How frequent and how long do I need to stay in counselling?
Answer: The frequency and the numbers of sessions depend on your situation and goals. Typically it takes 4 to 6 weeks for people to recognize they have made progress. It could take several months or years to work on some long‑term goals. It is also possible to take only a few sessions for the client to have significant transformation. In some cases, clients continue to stay in counselling for their personal growth after achieving the initial goals.
